Happiest of Valentine's Days!

It's Valentine's Day.  A day for men around the world to show their sweethearts just how much they care through heart shaped boxes of chocolates, vases full of oversized bouquets, and LOTS of pink balloons.  But let's get real here...my husband is just about the least romantic man to ever walk the planet.  To give you a little insight into just how unromantic he is, here is the true story of our very first Valentine's Day together - Cody worked late.  Cody drove to my house after work.  Cody remembered it was Valentine's Day about half way there.  Cody stopped at the store right by my neighborhood.  Cody grabbed a cheap bottle of champagne and what looked like probably the last box of chocolate dipped strawberries.  Cody decided he needed to wrap it to look like he had put in a little effort.  Cody grabbed what he thought was pink tissue paper...but was really a pink plastic tablecloth.  Cody realized his mistake while sitting in his truck outside of my house.  Cody wrapped it up anyways and handed it to me when he walked through the door.  A real modern day Casanova, huh?

Ever since that day, I have loathed Valentine's Day and all that goes along with it.  That is, until my new little lovie came into my life.  So, I decided to make this year special and have Hayes be my new Valentine!  After all, he loves my cooking, claps when I walk in the room, and gives the absolute best hugs and smooches.  He is such a sweetheart, and darn it...that needs to be celebrated!  We spent the whole day doing all of our most favorite things - playing with toys, reading Valentine's Day books, and eating sweets.  It was great, and I thought that there was no way that my day could possibly get any better.  But then Mr. Unromantic came home, and get this...he had his hands behind his back.  (A tell tale sign that he is up to something good!)  After a quirky yet sweet monologue, he pulled his hands from behind his back to unveil my surprise - my favorite wine, the yummiest of chocolate, and a Gypsy for my Cricut.  It was the perfect ending to the happiest of Valentine's Days.  My heart sure is full of love for my two sweet boys!

Thinking this picture looks familiar? It is because I have an almost identical one from Halloween.
Hayes really loves these two special holidays when he gets such sweet treats!
