Today our little family had the honor of walking in the Energy for Life Walkathon to help raise awareness and funding for the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. Each year, 1,000 to 4,000 children in the United States are born with a form of this metabolic disorder...and three years ago, my nephew Reid was one of those. He is such a fighter and brings so much joy to everyone he meets, so it was an incredible privilege to walk by his side and show him all of the love and support that we feel inside. We are proud soldiers in Reid's Army, and together we will continue the battle to find a cure for this disease!
Ready to walk!

We thought Dominick had a mitochondrial disorder when we were going through all of his testing. I remember you asking me about Reid. I'm so glad that they finally got some answers, as hard as it may be. Will keep them in our prayers for a cure!!
