- We are thankful for each other and the support we give one another. This past year has tested our relationship with all of the challenges we have faced, and we are grateful that each challenge has only brought us closer together and strengthened our love for one another.
- We are thankful for our family and all the love they continuously provide. From being there to hold my hand at doctor's appointments to spontaneous cards in the mail, I know we are always on their mind and in their hearts.
- We are thankful for our close friends, who are like a second family to us too. They always know just what to say, and how to put a smile on our face in any situation.
- We are thankful for our beautiful home. I thought we had made our house a home when we moved in and decorated all of the spaces. However, as we start to work on the nursery, the word home is taking on a whole new meaning.
- We are thankful for our jobs. We both love what we do and the people we work with. Our bosses and coworkers have been there for us through the ups and downs of these past few months, and they have shown us compassion and understanding well beyond their job requirements.
Hayes Robert Davis
Hayes is a name that I had stumbled upon when first creating our baby name list, and it is a name that we have both liked since the beginning (which is very rare!). Out of the blue, Cody recently looked at me and declared that it was the perfect name for our son. So it stuck, and we haven't looked at the rest of the names on the list since!
Robert holds a much more sentimental value to us though. It is the first name of my father, one of the most amazing men we know. My father is such a caring, honest, and noble man. With a namesake like this, we pray that our son will follow in his footsteps and leave his positive mark on the world just like his grandfather has.
