- Hayes has finally mastered the art of head control! He holds his head nice and steady no matter what position he is in, and we joke that he can turn it nearly all the way around like a hoot owl if he hears mommy's voice or is trying to watch the football game!
- Speaking of head control, he can even keep his sweet little noggin level when pulled to a sitting position from laying on the floor.
- His baby babble is becoming very expressive, and he has a different tone for all of his wants and needs. Here are just a few of his favorites - his quiet reading voice when he plays with his books, his dramatic whiney voice when he is getting sleepy or just wants some extra attention, and his giggly squeals when he gets super excited!
- Breastmilk is no longer the only thing on this guy's menu! He is now eating solids once a day, and so far he has tolerated oatmeal, avacado, squash, and sweet potatoes. Fruits were not so agreeable with his sensitive tummy, so we are waiting to try those again until his digestive system is a little more mature.
- Two weeks ago, we introduced Hayes to the sippy cup...and he loves it! He holds on to the handles like a big boy, and he is really starting to get the hang of how to drink from it now also!
- His gross motor skills have always been a concern of mine, but Hayes is doing great with these too! He can now stand in his jumperoo and play independently, grab for toys while sitting in his Bumbo, and roll from his stomach to his back on the activity gym. (Those of you preggo moms out there can attest to the difficutly of these tasks with that extra baggage on your belly!)
