CMHH NICU Reunion

This morning Hayes and I woke up early and headed down to the medical center...but this time it was for a very special reason - a celebration of life at the first ever Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital NICU reunion!!  Our beloved nurses put together this fun event at the Houston Zoo, and they thought of absolutely everything.  They had yummy snacks, face painting, a pumpkin patch, and even a costume contest.  Hayes was all smiles as he got passed around among some of his most favorite people, and we were excited to give a positive report to everyone.  The only drawback to the morning was that we were on kind of a tight schedule, so we only got to see a few of the actual zoo exhibits on our way out.  But don't you worry...I'm already planning a trip back to the zoo very soon!

Hayes the Hunter, accompanied by a 6-point buck.

We took pictures with Topper the Giraffe and Melissa, one of our favorite nurses...
(You might remember her from an earlier post - she gave Hayes his very first bottle!!)

... Kim, our amazing critical and palliative care nurse...

....and Ivy, our oh-so-sweet discharge nurse!

Hayes LOVED all of the miniature pumpkins,
so much that I couldn't even get him to look up for a picture!

Bye-bye meerkats...see ya soon!
