Beach Bums

Last weekend, we loaded up and headed down to the coast to spend some quality time with the family and say farewell to what ended up being a pretty amazing summer.  (We might or might not have celebrated my 30th birthday while we were there too...but I don't want to talk about that!)  It was an absolutely perfect late summer getaway.  The weather was incredible, the pristine beaches were not overly crowded, and the family time was just what we all needed.  We all had a blast, but I think Hayes and his cousins had the most fun of all!  Playing in the sand, splashing in the water, and exploring the expansive beach house we were staying in...what more could four kiddos that are four and under possibly need??  Nothing!  Just look at all of the fun we had...

My little beach bum making himself at home in the sand!

I think he likes it, don't you?

Now making his way into the water...

...so he can splash and play with Shorty.

Cousin Rhett LOVED the boogie board!

And RC loved pulling him down the shore!

Cousin Reid hard at work pushing the wagon through the sand...

...until he realized how much fun it was to hitch a ride through the water!

The wind was just perfect to fly our new kite...

...and Daddy and Hayes became pros at it!

Silly Reid soaking in some salty water.

Sweet cousin Cora had it made in the shade!

The big boys decided to try their hand at surfing...

...but Uncle Steve was the only one who made it up.

Back at the beach house and hanging out on the porch...

 ...playing trucks with Rhett...

...and watching Daddy grill drink a cold one.

We just loved all that family time...and we already can't wait until next year's trip!
