Preschool Christmas Program

Nothing quite melts my heart like the sound of children singing, so you better believe my heart was a big pile of mush at Hayes's first ever preschool Christmas program last night at his church school.  I just loved sitting back in my front row seat and watching as each class took the stage for their moment to shine.  But I have to say that my absolute favorite part came at the end of the program when the whole school came together on the steps of the alter to sing a few final songs...and Hayes's sweet class finally made their big entrance to join in on the celebration of the birth of our Lord.  Unfortunately, Hayes was not quite feeling the whole Christmas spirit thing and just sucked his fingers for the entire rendition of "Happy Birthday Jesus"...but no worries - he warmed up right in time to do a few hand motions for "Joy to the World" which closed out the show.  Ooooh, my heart is melting again just thinking of it.  Seeing Hayes among all of those other sweet faces and hearing all of the precious voices singing together is a memory that I can honestly say that I will never, ever forget...

Not so sure about things when his class made their big entrance into the show...

...but then he warmed up and joined right in!

Is it just me, or does he kind of look like a young Santa Claus in this one?

A big round of applause for my big boy!

...our attempt at getting a picture after the show...

So proud of our little angel and his first Christmas program!
